Ah Long - The Chinese Disease

- Ah Long 100% chinese dominated
- if indian money lender, it's called Chettiah
- malay is called, lintah darat

I am very ashamed to be a chinese. Treat human worst than dog!!!
and they got the guts to say, we only use force if they don't pay up!!! hello, did you hear yourself speak?

Why the fark did you borrow them in the first place if they cannot pay?

PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is shocked and appalled at the level of cruelty loan sharks inflict on defaulters and wants authorities to take action against the culprits.

The Prime Minister said he could not believe how inhumane some Ah Longs could be against those who fail to settle their debts.

“I’m truly shocked with what the media had reported. Authorities must take swift action.

“This is a lesson for all Malaysians. I hope they realise the danger and negative implications of borrowing money from loan sharks. The public should never take loans from them,” he told reporters yesterday.

The Prime Minister was commenting on media reports of three men who were rescued by the police after being held captive for two months by loan sharks when they failed to settle their debts.

The victims, aged 25, 34 and 49 years, were abducted from Segambut, Semenyih and Gombak and were held in a shoplot in Seri Kembangan after failing to settle their debts of between RM1,500 and RM4,000 each.

They were found chained by their necks and legs and showed signs of having beaten by their captors.

On speculation over changes in the Petronas management, Najib, who is Finance Minister declined to comment, saying that “(I) don’t know yet”.

There has been talk of that a new chairman would be appointed for the national petroleum company. Among the names mentioned was that of a former minister. Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican is the current Petronas chairman.

On whether he has decided to attend the People’s Progressive Party annual general meeting on June 7, the Prime Minister said that he had yet to check the Registrar of Societies (ROS) report on the party’s status.

On Tuesday, Najib said he wanted a full report from ROS on PPP’s leadership crisis before he would open its annual general meeting

Syndicate the worst Chong has seen in his decades of work

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Michael Chong came to know about the syndicate that “kidnaps” loan defaulters three months ago but was forced to keep silent as police were carrying out investigations.

The MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head said that in his decades of service helping people in Ah Long matters, what the syndicate did to their victims – kidnapping them, chaining and feeding them scraps – was the worst he had ever seen.

“I am appalled at the lengths one can go to hurt another just for the sake of money,” Chong said yesterday.

He first came across such a case when a Chinese national woman pleaded with him to help her find her missing Malaysian husband.

Chong, who had thought it was a missing person’s case at first, later found out that the husband had been locked away for more than 10 days and was only released after the “ransom”, which was the loan money, was paid up by the wife.

He then alerted the police about the “sadistic” Ah Long syndicate.

“The next case with an identical modus operandi came to me about two months ago. A young man was badly beaten up and had pleaded to his family for his life.

“At this point, I realised that something really bad was going on and quickly informed the Selangor and Kuala Lumpur police about the existence of such a syndicate, which kidnaps its victims who do not pay up their loans,” Chong said.

However, Chong was told to “lie low” as police were investigating the case.

Six weeks ago, he was approached by the family of a woman who had been taken, chained and beaten up badly. The family was told that she would not be released until they paid up her loan. She was released after a week.

Two weeks ago, he found out that a woman in her 40s had been kidnapped. She was stripped from waist down and caned on her buttocks.

“The Ah Long captured the beatings in their camera phone and sent an MMS to the woman’s family, ordering them to pay up or more punishment would be meted out on the woman.

“Again, I was urged to stay calm by my friends in the police force who told me they were close to cracking the case,” Chong said.

He was relieved to know the syndicate had been busted and paid tribute to the Selangor police and Kuala Lumpur police over the success.

“Some of the families told me they would get calls from the syndicate, who made them listen to their loved ones shout and cry for help as they were beaten up,” he said.

Dr M decries being held to ransom by language extremists

Just before he stepped down as prime minister in 2003, Dr Mahathir Mohamad bulldozed the concerns of vernacular educationists and implemented the controversial language switch policy.

Under this policy, schoolchildren will be taught science and mathematics in English in a bid to improve their proficiency of the English language.

The critics cried foul and have been pushing for the policy to be dropped ever since. After exhausting all avenues, the critics took the streets on March 7.

Ex-cop implicates Abdul Gani, Musa in Anwar black-eye case, clears Dr M

By Leslie Lau
Consultant Editor

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 — Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim, the police officer who investigated Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s black-eye beating in 1998, has accused the country's top lawyer and police chief of fabricating evidence in the assault but cleared Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad of any wrong-doing.

He claimed he was told by the then prime minister to ensure there was no cover-up in the investigations, according to a statement of claim made by him in a suit filed against the opposition leader.

But the former investigator now implicates Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan in what he claims was an attempt to introduce a medical report which he found suspicious.

According to his statement of claims which was obtained by The Malaysian Insider, the medical report prepared by a Dr Abdul Rahman Yusof from Hospital Kuala Lumpur had suggested Anwar’s injuries were self-inflicted.

Instead, Mat Zain asserts in his statement of claim that he had taken all possible steps to prevent the medical report prepared by Dr Abdul Rahman from being included in his investigation papers.

Mat Zain filed a RM30 million defamation suit against Anwar last year after the Pakatan Rakyat leader claimed that Abdul Gani, who was a senior deputy public prosecutor then, and Musa, who was an investigating officer, had fabricated evidence against him in the black-eye assault.
Tan Sri Rahim Noor, the Inspector-General of Police in 1998, later admitted he had assaulted Anwar following a Royal Commission of Inquiry probe in 1999.

Besides Mat Zain, Musa has also filed a defamation suit against Anwar.

The statements of claim made by both Musa and Mat Zain have been admitted as part of an affidavit filed by Anwar for his Sodomy II trial which starts in July.

Anwar had claimed trial last August to sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, his second sodomy case in a decade.

Mat Zain, who declined comment on the details of his lawsuit, told The Malaysian Insider however that he had decided to sue Anwar to clear his name because unlike Abdul Gani and Musa he had not been officially cleared of the allegations of abuse of power.

Yesterday, Mat Zain, who retired as the Kuala Lumpur CID chief, claimed there was a high-level plot using a bankruptcy notice to destroy his credibility ahead of several cases including Anwar’s sodomy trial.

State news agency Bernama had on Wednesday reported that Mat Zain was declared a bankrupt on April 21 for failing to settle a RM250,000 loan and was served with the notice on May 26. The news was carried by several Malaysian publications including The Malaysian Insider which subscribes to the Bernama service.

“I say with certainty that there are very powerful hidden hands that wanted it so. Their reasons are to destroy my credibility and/or to paralyse my capabilities and prevent me from giving evidence against Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail and IGP Tan Sri Musa Hassan for fabricating evidence in the ‘black-eye’ case of 1998 involving Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” said Mat Zain in a statement.

Mat Zain claimed the bankruptcy notice is related to his appeal to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) advisory board to clear his name after the anti-graft agency cleared only Gani and Musa from charges of fabrication lodged by Anwar.

“I have reasons to believe that the prosecution team anticipated that Anwar will certainly raise at certain points of his trial the issue of fabrication of evidence in the black-eye case. My evidence would be vital at this stage. Their only option is to destroy my credibility.”

In his statement of claim, Mat Zain points out that he had been instructed by Rahim, the IGP then, to head an investigation into Anwar’s allegation on Sept 27, 1998 that he had been assaulted while in police lock-up.

Anwar had been detained by police on Sept 20,1998, just 18 days after he had been sacked by Dr Mahathir as deputy prime minister. The widespread public protests and his subsequent sodomy trial led to the birth of the Reformasi movement.

In his suit against Anwar filed last August, Mat Zain states that he had accompanied two forensic specialists — Dr Halim Mansar and Dr Zahari Noor — to conduct a medical examination on Anwar on the day he started his probe.

He met Rahim later that night and was instructed by his boss “to leave no stone unturned” to protect the integrity of the police.

On Oct 16, Mat Zain claims he was told by the Attorney-General then to liaise with Abdul Gani on all matters related to the probe.

Ten days later he met with Abdul Gani at the latter’s office and was then introduced to Dr Abdul Rahman. The medical expert then signed a medical report and handed it over to Mat Zain.

Mat Zain then claims that he had objected to Dr Abdul Rahman’s report because it also contained personal attacks against Dr Halim, one of the original medical experts in the case.
He claimed further that on further enquiries, he had discovered that Dr Halim had previously lodged a police report against Dr Abdul Rahman for “criminal intimidation.”

On Oct 28, 1998, Mat Zain said he had come to the conclusion that Dr Abdul Rahman had never examined Anwar. He also claimed to have discovered that Abdul Gani had been present on the 30th floor of Bukit Aman on the night that Rahim assaulted Anwar.

Two days later, Mat Zain claimed that he submitted to Abdul Gani his investigation papers which asserted among other matters that Anwar’s injuries were consistent with an assault and that they were not self-inflicted. Mat Zain also asserted that he believed Rahim was the person who had assaulted Anwar.

The two men — Mat Zain and Abdul Gani — had a heated argument over the findings of the probe, according to the statement of claim.

Later that year on Dec 12, Musa, who is now the IGP, had asked Mat Zain to attend a meeting at Bukit Aman with Abdul Gani and Dr Abdul Rahman. At the meeting he was asked to accompany Dr Abdul Rahman for a visit to the lock-up in which Anwar had been held.

The next day, Mat Zain claims he took Dr Abdul Rahman to the lock-up, but points out that he left the doctor on his own in the room.

On Dec 31, 1998, Mat Zain claims that his investigation papers were returned to him. The papers included a second undated medical report by Dr Abdul Rahman.

In the second medical report, Mat Zain claims it was stated he had accompanied Dr Abdul Rahman and aided in a reconstruction of events, which he says was not true.

The initial police investigations prompted Dr Mahathir to suggest Anwar's black-eye could have been self-inflicted, an allegation that was later found to be untrue.

Mat Zain claims that he investigated the black-eye incident without fear or favour and had his statement recorded five times by the precursor to MACC, the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) when Anwar lodged a report on July 1, 2008 that Abdul Gani, Musa, Mat Zain and Dr Abdul Rahman had falsified a medical report on the assault case.

But MACC chief commissioner Datuk Seri Ahmad Said Hamdan announced on March 3 that a three-member independent panel led by the Solicitor-General had scrutinised the investigation papers and cleared Abdul Gani and Musa of criminal wrongdoing, prompting Mat Zain to later appeal the findings.

ftoopid PKR

*sigh

What on earth is PKR doing? The recent Aminah tapes did capture explicitly 'scenarios' in which both the PKR men had indeed proposed some sort of 'package' for Aminah. What on earth were they thinking? They actually think that Aminah was a threat to the PKR candidate Mansor? Yougottabeflippinkiddingme!

PKR needs to get their act together la. PKR is manned by some jokers and their way of doing things are sooooooo similar to what UMNO/BN does. Personally, I think PKR is a weak link in the PR alliance. DAP has pretty good people on board who are knowledgable and professional. PAS is known to be the cleanerst of all parties.... PKR... what we have seen is 2 frogs and loads of questionable leaders.

How about a free shopping trip to Thailand on polling day?

By Lee Wei Lian, The Malaysian Insider

Some voters here may be spending polling day holidaying in either Langkawi, Haadyai or the Perlis shopping haven of Wang Kelian, near the Thai border.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Bilik Gerakan or operation centres report an organised effort to sign up voters for free bus trips to the various holiday destinations.

Suspicions are high that the bus trips are being organised by Umno to reduce voter turnout on polling day.

“They (Barisan Nasional) are afraid that their supporters will come out and vote even though they are not contesting. They would like to reduce the voter turn-out so that they can say voters do not approve of the by-election and are boycotting it,” says one PKR Penanti executive committee member.

He added that the trips are being advertised as school-holiday trips.

“If they can get 20 buses with each bus having 40 people, that is 800 people,” he said.

Penanti has a total of 15,421 voters of which 12,657 turned out in the last by-election in August last year.

Though victory for PKR is almost assured, the party still feels that that a high voter turnout is key to send a message that the party enjoys a high level of support.

Permatang Pauh Umno division chief Datuk Abdul Jalil Abdul Majid has denied being behind the bus trips.

“People have the right to go where they want,” he said when contacted by The Malaysian Insider.

Division secretary Rohaizat Othman said that the bus trips are being organised at the branch level and he is not involved.

According to some reports, the buses are to leave at 7.30am on May 31, which is polling day.

There are also unconfirmed reports that RM500 pocket money has been promised to would-be holidaymakers upon their boarding the bus.

Jalil said that he has not given any directives to Umno voters for polling day; whether to stay home, go outstation or support the independent candidates.

“It is up to them,” he said.

Asked to comment on the allegations by independent candidate Aminah Abdullah that PKR tried to bribe her to withdraw from the contest, he said: “She was one of them before. She knows what is going on in the party.”

Does he think her allegations will affect voter sentiment?

“A little bit. But the impact will not be great as people think such things are normal during by-elections.”

Pakatan Rakyat is Discriminatory

Posted by Simon Templar On Wednesday, May 27, 2009 4 comments
Yes. You read me right. Pakatan Rakyat discriminates. For all that they preach about equality and justice, I cannot help but notice how they discriminate certain faction of the Malaysian society.

If you have noticed the people who have been causing PR problem, you will also come to realise that they are former PR component party members who share the same sentiments - that they have not been given the same treatment as the others in their parties.

1. Hee Yit Foong

She claims that everyone got a Camry but her. And that she was not respected while she was in DAP.

2. Aminah Abdullah

She claims that her efforts in PKR is not appreciated and that she has been sidelined in the party's new developments.

Look at the photos above. It is very clear that the 2 are fugly (for the uninitiated, that's short for 'fucking ugly'). In fact, they may even appear to look like men. Some people have this skill while other may not be that talented. But what cannot be challenged is that PR as a whole seem to have a thing against those who are fugly.

This is not encouraging for politics as politics have already been seen as being dominated by men. And men of PR are definitely not doing justice to themselves for treating women in politics based on their looks.

Here are some examples of Pakatan Rakyat ladies who seem to be 'better' treated by their party (who is dominated by men). No grouses at all from these ladies.

Hannah Yeoh of DAP. Ahhh... this one quite popular. No scandals, no grouses, no issues. Reasonably pleasing to the eyes also.

Teo Nie Ching of DAP. Not my type la but no problem for PR, no problem for DAP, only problem for police because she attends candlelight vigils. Compare to specimen No. 1 and No. 2. A lot of difference lor...

Nurul Izzah. This one mesmerized a lot of Malaysian men. They put her against Shahrizat in the previous GE. No need to speak also Lembah Pantai men voted for her.

So, now you see I don't just talk for the sake of talking. I substanstiate my claims. Pakatan Rakyat indeed practices discrimination.

But, we can understand their predicament. Truly justified. PR, you are forgiven.

Tired

I dunno about you guys but I think I'm suffering from fatigue from being overly frustrated with the current government and the recent ridiculous actions of the UMNO/BN police. I call them UMNO/BN police cos that is just what they are. They don't deserved to be called police because they are not protecting the people that they have sworn to protect. Such injustice indeed. And it pains me to see that not many people around me give a hoot about it. All they would just say "Wah... liddat also can ah?" and then go back to their own life. Where is the uproar? I'm not saying that we should take to the streets. Far from that. Perhaps the stifled MSM has muted such uproar... I don't know.

BUt yea... I'm surffering from fatigue. There's so much anger in me. They just don't care about what the people perception of them eh? I think the current police leaders are beyond redemption. If the leaders are crap... so would the followers.

This is not meant to be anti-Malay. And I am definitely not anti-Malay. In fact, I speak Malay better than some Malay. So, don't throw anything racial in my face on this.

Utusan has again been allowed to post seditious comments. Of course, nothing will happen to them. In Malaysian politics, everything that you read and see happen for a reason. Utusan is UMNO's mouth piece. I've commented earlier on what UMNO may be up to - pushing the people to it's limits via inciting anger and stirring emotions. And I also mentioned how this will go on and on and on until UMNO gets the public reaction they want - so that they get to act.

Well, that's their intentions in my eyes. I don't care (anymore). UMNO is led by a bunch of scumbags with fungus growing in their brains. What else do you expect from them? They are bankrupt of ideas.

But what I cannot tahan is the arrogance. Kanineh... si beh lansi. If I keep the pain within me, gravity will pull the pain down. And my balls will hurt. Read the article. So arrogant. This I find difficult to swallow. Oh, how I wish the next GE is nearby. It will be so so so nice to see UMNO fall. Sweet. Bodohwi's grim face on the night of GE 2008 was priceless. And to give me Najib's muka pucat on the night of the next GE will be sweeeeeeeeeetttttttttt...

Malaysian, STOP banning everything

Now alcohol, what next? Porn? DVD? freedom to speak?

If you want to reduce moral decay, EDUCATE not LEGISLATE!!!

From SUN malaysia
-----------------------------

Education and enforcement, not total ban, the answer, says Khir Toyo

PETALING JAYA (May 25, 2009) :
Education and enforcement, and not a total ban, are the keys to curbing problems arising from the excessive consumption of alcohol, former Selangor mentri besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Khir Toyo said today.

He said education on the ills of alcohol consumption should be extended to both Muslim and non-Muslim youths.

“They should be taught that alcohol is not good for health and on the ills of excessive consumption,” Mohd Khir said whenenting on issues raised during a dialogue between stakeholders pertaining calls for the ban of alcohol and beer in areas with majority Muslim population.

The dialogue, organised by the Selangor state government, was aimed at listening to views on the matter before it comes up with a guideline on the sale of alcohol in the state.

While religious organisations argued that easily available alcohol and beer would entice the young and Muslims, and that non-Muslims who drank posed a danger to themselves and people around them, those opposing the ban said this is a problem that should be addressed by the inculcation of strong religious values and self discipline so that those involved will not be easily tempted to take up habits that are against their religion.

“In terms of enforcement, during our administrationmthere was strict enforcement on the sale of alcohol to minors and Muslims and any outlet found selling alcohol to Muslims will have their licenses revoked immediately,” Mohd Khir said.

“This is a sensitive matter and there can be no total ban as we have to be careful about the sensitivities of the non-Muslims.”

"Hwever, i certain areas like Bangi, whether the majority of the population are Muslims, we did not allow the sale of alcohol and beer as there is no reason for anyone there to purchase these products."

Asked if there was any study done to determine the population of an area and if a ban on the sale of alcohol there was warranted, he said: “That depended on the discretion of the local authority.”
On the ban on the sale of beer in Shah Alam, Mohd Khir said: “We should see which area is involved to avoid infringing on the sensitivities of non-Muslims.”

Among the issues raised at the dialogue was also the attitude of overzealous local authority officers who have imposed bans on the sale of alcohol in some areas.

Some have also refused to renew the licenses of alcohol traders although these establishments have been in business for generations, while others had allowed their personal perceptions to influence their decision to not renew or issue licenses.

These are among the reasons why the state held an open dialogue to address the issue of non-uniform guidelines pertaining the issuing of licenses to shops, retailers including 24-hour stores, hypermarkets and Chinese medicine halls.

On May 13, 7-Eleven convenience shopping Sdn Bhd received a letter from the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) informing the them that the sale of alcoholic drinks and beer was not allowed in their stores in Sections 1-25 in Shah Alam, Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh (Section U20) and TTDI Jaya (Section U2).

It is learnt that some local authorities like those servicing areas like Bangi have already implemented this ban on their own accord. A spokesperson for Sepang Municipal Council who services a section of Bangi said in areas like the southern part of Sepang the ban is not in force as there are many non-Malays in the area.

Alcohol ban: Let's have sober decisions

The decision by a local authority in Selangor to restrict and/or ban the sale of liquor, medicated wines and beers in certain retail outlets, in particular, convenience stores and traditional Chinese medicine shops has generated much unease amongst the business sectors concerned and the community at large.

Notwithstanding the noble intentions of the proponents of the ban which is to curb social ills arising from alcohol abuse, I suggest that this issue should be handled in a rational and systematic manner.

Perhaps, in addition to public consultations, the state government should also engage with the various stakeholders separately, or jointly, in private consultations to gauge the true feelings on the ground.

The views of the various religious bodies and relevant professional institutions should also be sought. While open public dialogues are commendable, these sometimes have the tendency of degenerating into contentious debates that inflame emotions and entrench positions without resolving the root issues.

The rules applicable to the sale of liquor and alcoholic beverages in this country have been in use since independence in 1957, and indeed, decades before when Malaya (and then Malaysia) was under British rule. Hitherto, these regulations had never been a matter of concern.

If there is any change proposed, whether at local authority, state or national level, it is essential that such revision comes about only after careful study and research. Any proposed regulation must be in accordance with other existing federal and state laws or they will be challenged.

Local authorities must be mindful that In regulating local businesses, they have to act in accordance with the regulations in place, and not according to their personal views and prejudices.

Since the primary concern stems from the alleged consumption of liquor and beer by Muslim youth, empirical data must be obtained to bear out this contention. Public policy cannot be made on the hunches of a few persons.

Let us see the evidence. Perhaps the authorities should disclose the extent of alcohol abuse amongst Muslim youth so we may gauge the extent of the problem.

I would prefer that the energy and attention of all stakeholders and authorities, including the state government, be channeled towards tackling the pressing social ills and crime issues besetting Malaysian society and not to further regulate something which has not been proven to be a major source of the social problems.

Worse, tightening or banning the sale of alcoholic beverages will likely encourage a black market trade in such items, perhaps even boosting demand for illegal samsu (bootleg) and toddy.

This will cause a loss of revenue for the government, loss of jobs in the retail and manufacturing sectors concerned and would not help Malaysia's image as a competitive investment destination.
In India, for example, thousands are killed or injured each year through the consumption of illicit liquor.

I would suggest the Selangor state government undertake an authoritative study of the regulatory framework in other countries where there is a sizeable Muslim population to learn how this matter is handled.

These countries could include our neighbours such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines as well as other Muslim-majority countries such as found in the Middle East.

I am very perturbed that one of the criteria cited for advocating such restrictions and/or ban is the locality being a ‘Muslim majority area'. May I suggest that public policy decisions be based on what is right or wrong, good or bad, and not always on a simple majority vs. minority basis.

If this were to be the basis for public policy decision-making, the future is indeed bleak for multi-culturalism and diversity in Malaysia as simple demographic trends dictate that virtually all localities in Malaysia will become ‘Muslim-majority' in the years to come.

The strength of democracy lies in giving room to both majority and minority interests. That is the secret of a successful diverse nation.

Let us learn from the successes of the US, Singapore and Turkey in multi-culturalism and not follow other countries such as Sri Lanka and Yugoslavia where intolerance and lack of respect for minority views and interests have destroyed the very fabric of nationhood.

Lets Be Smart About This

Posted by Simon Templar On Sunday, May 24, 2009 4 comments
It is not too difficult to guess that the next hottest topic in Malaysia will not be the share market or even the economy. I am inclined to believe that yesterday's raid of DAP's HQ by the police will be the main coffee shop talk this week. There will be a lot of condemnation of the police, emotions running wild and more complaining, grousing and the lots. I had my share of that in my earlier posting on this subject and am going to tackle this issue from a different angle.

I would like to think that I am a reasonably smart person. Maybe not many will agree but indulge me. Lets be smart and try to understand what Najib and UMNO is up to with this very shocking raid (and without a warrant).

Now, I don't think that Najib and his goons are stupid people. Far from that. Plus, they have the resources to employ the brains of very capable people. So, why are they continuosly digging deeper and deeper graves for themselves, or are they? If I can know that this action will only further erode support for BN from the Chinese, so must they. Most Chinese are not politically associated with either MCA or DAP. Fence sitters. Present issues dictate their support. So, why is Najib risking the support of the Chinese? They have already lost the Indian votes. With the lost votes combined, BN cannot win in the next general elections. So, there must be a larger agenda.

Hmmm... So, I think that it is fair that I say come the next GE, either:

1. The Chinese and Indians have no choice but to vote BN or not vote at all; or
2. They will not get to vote.

Other than 1 or 2, BN will lose. Can I safely conclude that?

Now, how can the Cinas and Indias vote BN when Najib's camp is making things intolerable for them? Money won't solve the problem for BN as we already know. UMNO, MCA and MIC will not chnage and are in fact turning for the worse. Intriguing? But what if there is no longer a Pakatan Rakyat? Then we'll be back to pre March 2008 won't we? So, if I were in BN's shoes, my best chance to fight my opponent is to make my opponent fall before the fight.

How to bring PR down? What are the key success factors of PR? I will say Anwar and the 'pakatan' among PAS, PKR and DAP. Attack either one and if you succeed, the pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow.

Anwar is one tough cookie. Very smart one too. Probably even smarter than Najib and definitely more politically experienced and capable than Najib. Even the great Tun M finds Anwar a very formidable opponent. They have been trying very hard to bring him down to his knees recently but to no avail. Furthermore, Anwar has with him international support. He has built enough good rapport to buy himself this small insurance of international scrutiny of his welfare. Try as BN may, Anwar will be the tougher target of the 2.

On the other hand, the informal bond of PAS, PKR and DAP is rather fragile. Held together only by understanding among their leaders. The media may say all they want but I genuinely believe that the leaders of all 3 parties are comfortable co-existing with each another. But the demise or fall from grace of any of the 3 parties will spell the end of PR.

PKR is Anwar - and we have tackled that earlier. Attacking PAS with Islamic issues will see UMNO hurt themselves too. The current money politics talk in PAS? Please, PAS is not UMNO. So, PAS is also a no go. That leaves DAP. How is BN going to bring DAP down? I think it has all started already.

Najib and his goons are, in my eyes, extremists. So expect their tactics to be such too. They attacked Karpal Singh. His son, Gobind Deo Singh. They attacked DAP's many candlelight vigil. All in ridiculous manner. But DAP is not reacting. Not fighting back. But it will be in the interest of UMNO to provoke a street-type respond from DAP. It doesn't even have to involve violence. DAP supporters are definitely not capable of street violence anyway. Simple peaceful marches which is also very much favoured in the developed nations is good enough for UMNO to take action in the name of peace in the country. After all our beloved neighbour, Thailand, has set an example. And that will end DAP and hence, PR.

Another Ops Lalang? Yes, Ops Lalang Besar-Besaran. Quashing the opposition big time has always proved to be effective. Look at the 1980s where Tun M got to rule with ease. Look at 1969. The oppositions got quashed so badly that it takes the oppositions 40 years to make their presence felt again. UMNO is badly in need of a fix. A super huge fix now. Their very own survival is at stake. Try cornering a tiger to a corner and it will do all it can to survive. But we need not talk about ethnic cleasing or racial riots. I hope MCA and MIC actually have influence in BN to prevent a repeat of what Najib's father did to our country.

So, everyone please help keep emotions in check. Human are emotional beings. It is what makes us different from animals. But it is also our weakness. And oh how human likes to play with the emotions of another human. DAP, please don't react. Yes, the courts are not an avenue for justice. But justice will be served come the next GE. Just continuously pump the momentum. In the meantime, spread calm to everyone around us. Emotions are being stroked and fanned. And this will not end until the next GE. Breathe in, breathe out... Breathe in, breathe out... And please, no kungfu fighting, yes?

Police Raided DAP HQ Without Warrant

Posted by Simon Templar On Sunday, May 24, 2009 4 comments
Aiyoh... Our police are at it again. They have been arresting people attending peaceful candlelight vigils, people who wear black, lawyers... It looks like they arrest anyone on their whims. Our police are beginning to look like sheriffs from old American cowboy movies... (yeeee hah...) The not so macho version that is.

My gold fish told me our Malaysian police is turning our country into a lawless state. Some say the country is now a police state. But if the police don't even give a damn about the law, then it is a lawless state la. Betui? I agree with my gold fish. The law does not matter in this country anymore, it seems. According to my gold fish, our police carry on their actions (in the guise of carrying out their duties) based on brain-storming sessions they have over teh tarik, a constable's dream, and apparently inspirations of ranking officers while taking a dump. Location of human waste discharge is unknown though.

You know, in developed countries, the police chief would have have to resign for all these rubbish. Regardless of whose fault it is, the leader will have to take the heat and bear responsibility. Look at the UK case where the super-intendent had to resign because he made an unlawful arrest. That looks weird to me because we Malaysians are so used to seeing such things on a daily basis. I didn't even know that if a policeman arrests a person and cannot find fault with him, the policeman is abusing his power. I always thought they can arrest you, find fault with you and then charge you. Maybe unlawful arrests are allowed in Malaysia. I don't know. I am not very good with the law. I mean, else the Bar Council would have known right? Phark la. That's why Malaysia is not viewed very kindly anywhere out of Malaysia. Damn, I know of many in Malaysia who don't view Malaysia very kindly too (in much harsher choice of words).

Back in school days, our teachers used to tell us to respect the police. They are an important element of the society (konon); one who is there to protect us citizens (huh?). Last time bodoh-bodoh accept what the teacher said. (Education in Malaysia is not structured to make you think and challenge. Accept as it is. Truth is most of us weren't even listening in class la.) But tell me la, how to respect our men in blue? They don't even respect their very own institution and the badge they wear on their chest. Instead they try to strike fear in us. Standard operating procedure of not very smart people - where you cannot garner respect, scare them. Similar to where you can't win an argument, raise your voice to intimidate. But most Malaysians don't even fear them nowadays - that explains our high crime rate! Nobody has anything good to say about our Malaysian police. It does look to me that they are very close to being the pariahs of our society.

So, our country sucks. Our leaders suck. Our judges suck. Our police sucks (big time). Hey hang on. That makes all key components of democracy in Malaysia suck. So who are we citizens of this country that sucks? Suckers? Tiu...

Bar Council, Got Balls or Not?

Posted by Simon Templar On Friday, May 22, 2009 4 comments
Remember the hoohah our Bar Council made demanding the resignation of the IGP, Home Minister and OCPD of Brickfields? I suspect that many had already swept that under the carpet - exactly what the government wants us to do. I mean you are not expecting our media to sensationalise something like this in Malaysia, are you? Or Wong Chun Wai to comment on this?

Anyway, all the detainees will not be charged. The lawyers too. What can the police charge them with in the very first place? This is simply a scare tactic; albeit one that scares me big time. I don't really want to be behind bars although the cause is good. Damn, they got one over me.

(See the video below of the ugly day when the 14 activists and 5 lawyers were detained).

But is the Bar Council going to let it all go now? The Bar Council can bring the IGP, Home Minister and OCPD of Brickfields down if they want to. After all, isn't the Bar Council the one who knows the law best? In any developed nation, these 3 jokers would have resigned last Monday. But how persistent is the Bar Council going to be? Are our Malaysian lawyers going to pressure the Bar Council into continuously pursue what they have passed in their EGM?

My instinct tells me that this will all go down to nought, again. This is Malaysia la. Those with power on the Bar Council have their own interests to protect. You may say that I already admitted that I am scared to be put in jail; and so too should they be afraid. True. But does the Bar Council need to take to the streets? Do the Bar Council need to 'congregrate illegally' to get this done? No, they don't have to. Smart people should do things the smart way. Lawyers should be smart and intelligent, shouldn't they? I am not a legal expert and neither do I possess the power of those on the very top of the Bar Council. But if I were at the helm, and if there's a will, there will be a blardie damn way.

So, dear Malaysian Bar Council, you guys got balls or not? Or is the Bar Council also supportive of the police state that UMNO has created for this country? Walk the talk, and don't talk talk and talk...

UMNO, UMNO... Whatcha gonna do now?

Posted by Simon Templar On Friday, May 22, 2009 4 comments
Religion is a hot topic in Malaysia. Almost everything in Malaysia is somehow related to religion. God. I often ask myself if I believe in God. Hmmm... Sorry, I cannot answer that. Truth is I don't know. I guess to 'see' God, you need faith. I am more ready to believe something that is physical in nature, for now. Maybe my day with faith will come, maybe it never will. Anyway, my spiritual side is not what I want to talk about. It is if there is truly God (somewhere up there), then God is looking at what UMNO is up to.

UMNO is spiralling. Spiralling out of control many may say, and Najib is trying crazy hard to keep things is perspective (and also to manage his personal problems of which nobody should talk about). But they didn't mention anything about whispering. So lets whisper, very softly, ALTANTUYA. Back to UMNO. So, Anwar is sniping them. With mostly by-election victories so far. Everyone is saying that Anwar wants to keep this momentum going; and then came Penanti. According to RPK, Najib is not going to give Anwar a victory; and so UMNO have confirmed that they are not going to contest at Penanti. It's Anwar's ploy they said. It is an unnecessary by election. And UMNO (or is it BN? or are they both the same?) is not going to be fooled by Anwar's ploy.

But just when Najib thought that he has out-smart Anwar, God played his hand. Another assembly man passed away this morning - Manek Urai (Kelantan) assemblyman, Ismail Yaakob. So, what is Najib going to do now? He surely cannot bypass this by-election, can he? What excuse is he going to offer to bypass this by-election? That this is a seat in Kelantan where UMNO has no chance of winning? Or UMNO should "concentrate fully on the economy and welfare of the rakyat" that it has no time for by-elections?

Jeng jeng jeng... interesting times, people. Interesting times. And let's give this by-election some further twist. This seat has got 99.3% Malay voters. (I don't like to term Malaysians by their ethnic background - but this is how Malaysian politics is). A true fight of the reflection of where the Malay support is. UMNO has been claiming that they have not been doing well in recent by-elections because the Chinese and Indians have gone on to support Anwar's Pakatan Rakyat and that the Malays are still strongly behind UMNO. That the Malays still believe in the struggles of UMNO. And that the Malays know that only UMNO will stand up for them. Let's put all this to test. I wouldn't say I am 100% confident that PAS will win this by-election. But at least 95% confident. (Hehe...)

Am sure Najib is having another bout of pounding headache now. Sorry Mr. Prime Minister, but this is good entertainment for us. Too bad for Najib that this popularity contest will have to be held in PAS' fort of Kelantan. Maybe God is watching. Or maybe it's the ghost of Voldemort.

Foregone conclusion: Zambry will be Perak Menteri Besar

I wish for an American Idol like upset but the chances of that happening is close to zero.

Don't know why the Court of Appeal bother to put up this monkey show. Just tell us the verdict quickly, continue to enrich themselves at the expense of justice and let BN to continue to plunder the state coffers.

Port Klang boss in damage control mode over PKFZ chief’s resignation

UPDATED

By Syed Jaymal Zahiid

KLANG, May 21 — Datuk Lee Hwa Beng has dismissed speculation surrounding the recent resignation of the executive chairman of the scandal-plagued Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), pointing out it had nothing to do with controversy surrounding the troubled project.

The Port Klang Authority (PKA) chairman said there was nothing scandalous about Lim Thean Shiang’s resignation.

Lee said Lim, who is also the PKA general manager, had submitted his resignation letter on May 7, citing personal reasons.

When asked if Lim was “forced” to resign following the information he gave to Barisan Nasional politicians on the audit report, Lee said he knows nothing about it.

"You have to ask him. I only know about the briefing matter through the media," he told a press conference.

It is learnt that BN politicians have been named in the audit report which contains scandalous information on the RM 4.6 billion PKFZ fiasco.

Leaked details on the report also showed that PKFZ had made RM 12 billion in losses.

BN Backbenchers Club chairman and Bintulu parliamentarian Datuk Tiong King Sing are among those said to be named in the audit report.

Meanwhile, Lee said he will now act as the chairman of PKFZ.

Lim’s assistant in PKA, Capt (retired) David R. Padman, will “cover” his duties as general manager, said Lee.

Lim’s resignation comes amid talk of a fallout between him and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat.

Ong had handpicked Lim to clean up PKFZ’s sagging finances.

Judicial Rot

Posted by Da Maniac On Thursday, May 21, 2009 5 comments
I'm no legal expert, knor do I claim to have an indepth knowledge of the Malaysian Constitution, but as an ordinary citizen (and taxpayer) of this country, my view of the Judiciary is that it's crap. TOTAL CRAP!

The powers that be are manipulating the judiciary in their favour. Most recently is the faster-than-light (FTL) speed on how Perak so-called MB Zambry, filed for a stay in the appeal court, and he gets it in 4 hours! Wow! Perak so-called ex-MB filed an appeal and his was set a few days later and then postponed even later to today. Duh! Stinks of double standards. FTL if you are from UMNO-BN and snail's pace if you are not one of them. Crap!!

What happened to the Royal Commission on the "Correct! Correct! Correct!" issue? Conveniently swept underneath the carpet. Nobody is brought to book and everything continues as if nothing ever happened! WTF!

Ask any ordinary member of the public and you would have the same conclusion. The Judiciary is not independant. Ask them about the police and all sorts of fowl language would come out of people's mouth. Nobody has high regards for the RMP. Nobody but the the jokers themselves.

    Raykat vs The Evil Regime
