At least you and the other thousands did not have to endure the boredom of spending the entire day at Pulapol! I arrived in KL early (12pm) and got picked up by PDRM. They stuffed us into a black maria and sent to Pulapol Released only after 9 hours. Only saving grace was getting to know my fellow malaysians who were in confinement with me. There were no Malays, Chinese, Indians, etc at Pulapol that day. There were just Malaysians.

After reading a few blogs from those who were there, I find that no one mentions the walk to KLCC where we sat down at the intersection in front of Public Bank where if I am not mistaken Chua Jui Meng gave a short speech and where Baharuddin Ahmad was killed. After the melee in front of Puduraya, those who managed to escape regrouped along Jln. Raja Chulan. There we hooked up with another group coming from Bukit Bintang at Jln. Sultan Ismail. The marchers took up one whole lane constantly switching sides to let cars traverse the distance between the traffic lights. From Hotel Renaissance, turned left headed towards Jln. Tun H.S. Lee where the marchers stopped, picking up a group coming from the other direction. Turning around the marchers headed towards KLCC. Looking in front, you couldn't see the front and looking behind, you couldn't see the end. All four lanes were taken up by marchers. Reaching KLCC and sitting down in the middle of the intersection chanting Daulat Tuanku in front of the big signage on KLCC itself that showed those very words were fantastic. It seems this part of the march was not highlighted even in the MSM although it was a fantastic photo op. As what happenned to you when you were dispersing, KLCC lrt closed, KLCC locked, that was when they fired those damn flying smoking vibrators. This was when Baharuddin Ahmad fell with those majestic towers as his last sight. Al-Fatiha to this husband, father, son and citizen who I'm sure cherished seeing people of every creed and colour walking together united.
